16th-17th Century

Thomas Botevyle (senior)
The son of William Botevyle and Joyce, Thomas was born before 1492. Thomas married twice, first to Margaret Palmer in Hughley, Shropshire (1529) and then to Joan in 1539. Our line is descended from this first marriage but there are also descendants from the second marriage. In fact it seems that a great-grandson of Thomas & Joan was the first to use the name Botfield.

Thomas Botevyle (junior)
The son of Thomas Botevyle (senior) and Margaret (nee Palmer) Thomas was born in about 1550. He married Katherine Slade in 1559, probably in Botevyle. They had many children, many of whom survived into adulthood.

Richard Botevyle
The son of Thomas Botevyle (junior) and Katherine (nee Slade), born before 1582 probably in Botevyle. He married Evetta Wood in 1600, probably in Botevyle.

John Botevyle
The son of Richard Botevyle and Evetta (nee Wood), he was born in Botevyle in about 1617. He married Margaret Cox in Bromfield, Shropshire, in about 1642.

Thomas Botevyle
The son of John Botevyle and Margaret (nee Cox), he was born before 1652 in Church Stretton, Shropshire. He married Ann sometime before 1670, the year in which he died being buried in Church Stretton.
