Richard Botevyle (senior)

The son of Thomas Botevyle and Ann, he was born before 1670 in Shrewsbury. He married Elizabeth Gravenor in Uffington, Shropshire, in 1697. Richard Botevyle, saddler, was admitted to the Saddlers' &c. Company, Shrewsbury, 23 Apr 1694. Buried in Shrewsbury in 1735.

Richard Botevyle (junior)

The son of Richard Botevyle (senior) and Elizabeth (nee Gravenor) he was born in Shrewsbury in 1703.

In 1726 two important events happened in the life of Richard Botevyle. He married Martha Clarke in Montford, Shropshire, and he was admitted to the Sadlers Company and thus became a Freeman of the Town.

The old records of the Sadlers Company (1739-1854) still survive and can be viewed at the Shropshire Archives. Ref. MIC144, Huntington Library, MS L3J6. The manuscripts contain the signature of Richard Botevyle himself.

Richard & Martha had several children although nothing is know about what happened to them.

Thomas Botevyle (senior)

The son of Richard Botevyle (junior) and Martha (nee Clarke), he was born in Shrewsbury in 1738. He married Ann Hewlett in Shrewsbury in 1764 and they had many children in the town.

Thomas Botevyle (junior)

The son of Thomas Botevyle (senior) and Ann (nee Hewlett), he was born in Shrewsbury in 1764. He married Ann in Shrewsbury sometime prior to 1784.
