Sir William de Botevile

The son of Sir Geoffrey Botevile, William was born in 1217. He had two sons, Sir John de Botevile (below) and Adam de Botevile (1252-)

Sir John de Botevile

The son of Sir William Botevile, John was born in about 1250.

One of his sons was Thomas Botevile and the line continues into the 14th century. In fact he had six sons altogether. Another of these was Walter de Botevile who married Alice, probably in Botevyle in 1314. Walter and Alice were the progenitors of the line that eventually changed their name to Thynne.

The others were Sir Adam (1280), Hugh (1284), John (1287), Thomas (1290).
